Gift-In-Kind Program

The University of New Mexico Athletics constantly strives to present a positive ‘front porch’ for the entire community. Athletics is not the most important aspect of an institution, but it can be the most visible. Lobo Athletics is consistently making an effort to find creative initiatives to unite and build relationships in the Albuquerque area. One initiative we believe would be an ideal fit for you and your business is our Lobo Gift-In-Kind (GIK) Program.

Lobo Athletics uses trade donations and services to offset the budget. Various GIK partners include food vendors, hotels, medical, construction, equipment, and other diverse needs for the department. The GIK Program allows local businesses to donate these various items in lieu of an annual cash contribution.

In return for GIK donation, business will receive benefits, which are listed in detail below, including being a part of the Lobo Club. To review Lobo Club benefits, click HERE. Through the Lobo Club, there are also countless opportunities for business exposure to leaders in the community.

It was a great year, but with support through the Gift-In-Kind program Lobo Athletics looks forward to again raising the bar throughout the 2011-12 season and continuing to Provide Opportunities for Excellence in UNM Athletics and in this community.

Benefits to local businesses:

  • Positive exposure with Lobo Athletics supporters, student-athletes, coaches and staff as well as future Lobo student-athletes and their families.
  • Listing in the Lobo Club Preferred Caterers list (if applicable), from which all catered activities at the South Athletic Complex MUST be contracted from including football tailgating in the Fan Fest area.  Teams must also refer to this list when scheduling team meals, banquets and training tables.
  • Opportunity to cater a Lobo Basketball halftime in the McDavid Loung (if applicable), a reserved VIP area for our $5,000 and above contributors. This opportunity includes four tickets, PA announcements and message board recognition during that evening’s contest.
  • Listing in the online Lobo Club Business Directory (a business to business networking tool with hundreds of listings in 30+ categories).
  • Listing in the UNM Visiting Team Guide (if applicable)– distributed to ALL visiting teams and out of town Lobo student-athletes’ parents and on-line Visitor’s Guide (currently under development).
  • Your support is a gift to the University of New Mexico community, whose 30,000 students and more than 3,000 faculty and staff will strongly support you.
  • Opportunity to purchase season tickets for the HOTTEST events in town – Lobo Athletics! Tickets are great for promotions, networking, employee awards, or personal use and the best seats are available only through the Lobo Club.
  • Priority seating at certain levels of support.
  • Priority parking at certain levels of support.
  • In many cases gift-in-kind is tax deductible (please consult a tax advisor for specific information regarding the tax deductibility of a Lobo Club contribution).
