2012-13 Ambassadors

On May 1, 2012 the Lobo Club kicked of the annual Ambassador Program, formerly called the membership drive, for the 2012-13 year! The Ambassadors, who are current Lobo Club members who volunteer to help us raise money, were tasked with growing the Lobo Club membership through renewing current members and recruiting new ones. Every dollar raised contributes to supporting UNM’s 450 student-athletes and 21 teams. Membership starts at only $50 per year.

Ambassadors will compete on six different teams or individually to reach the ambitious goals of 3,100 new and renewed members and a total of $2,600,000 in support during the months of May and June.

Ambassadors celebrated the beginning of this year’s drive to music by the Pink Flamingoes and enjoyed dinner and dessert compliments of Sandiago’s and Le Chantilly Fine Pastries. Ryan Mummert, the Lobo Club Board President, presented the Ambassadors the Lobo Club Student-Athletes of the Year, Jael Fanning of Women’s Soccer and John Catlin of Men’s Golf. Jael and John talked about how much their Lobo scholarship meant to their success on and off the field of play.

Executive Director Lee De Leon educated the group on the new structure of Lobo Club giving and new Director of Development, Alicia Marcell, updated the group on the specifics of the drive and the goals. She also presented Bobbye Burleson, a veteran Ambassador, with the Leaders of the Pack Award for raising over $40,000 in Lobo Club memberships for the 2011-12 year.

Argy Maniatis and Brad Hutchins from the marketing and sales department presented new and exciting information on football season ticket prices and opportunities.  Football Tight Ends Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Derek Warehime spoke to the Ambassadors about the upcoming football season and Coach Bob Davie’s work with the student-athletes.

The Ambassadors will go out and reach current members and recruit new members to the Lobo Club in the coming months to continue the record of success that has become a tradition for UNM Athletics.

Just because you are not a current Lobo student-athlete does not mean that you cannot help produce victories for UNM Athletics. Help the Lobos win as a Lobo Club Ambassador!

It is our recruiting season and we are looking for some Rookie Ambassadors to join the team.  Lobo Club Ambassadors are a group of passionate Lobo fans dedicated to raising money for the Lobo Scholarship Fund and Gift-in-Kind program. There are countless components to this incredible group including networking and competition, along with camaraderie, pride, building friendships and having fun!

You do not have to be a professional fundraiser; all we ask is that you want to see UNM Athletics excel nationally and are willing to engage friends, family members, and colleagues to be active in our climb to the top of the conference. In the end, you will have the opportunity to be a part of priceless experiences, and will build strong connections with Lobo athletics, its staff, coaches and student-athletes.

The Lobo Men’s and Women’s Basketball season might be over, but it is never too early to start gearing up for next season! To order 2012-13 basketball season tickets or to improve your current seats, please follow the steps below:

1)      Go to the www.UNMLoboClub.com website.

2)      Click on the Tickets and Parking dropdown.

3)      Select on the Basketball Ticket Request/Upgrade Form.

4)      Enter your contact information and ideal seating location.

5)      Submit your request.

Men’s and Women’s Basketball season ticket requests and upgrades will be fulfilled in mid-September after the season ticket renewal process. New requests and upgrades are prioritized based on Lobo Club annual giving levels. On the request form, indicate what you are willing to contribute for your seats. For example, if you’d like two seats in Section A, Row 5, it requires a $500 per seat donation to the Lobo Scholarship Fund in addition to the season ticket cost. You would need to pledge a total of $1,000 to the Lobo Scholarship Fund in order to qualify for these tickets and your pledge will be contingent on tickets allocated. After requests are prioritized, a Lobo Club or Ticket Office staff member will call individuals to inform them of their options. All requests will be fulfilled before season tickets go on sale to the public. The season ticket request and upgrade deadline is August 20th.
