The Lobo Champions Council

THE LOBO CHAMPIONS COUNCIL

The Lobo Champions Council was established to drive the University of New Mexico to consistently compete for Mountain West Conference and National Championships through major gifts to UNM Athletics. Invitations for the Lobo Champions Council will be reserved for the most financially committed alumni and friends of the University.

What are the qualifications for membership?

Members must be willing to commit to the threefold mission of the Lobo Champions Council.

Commit as an Ambassador

Members share factual information with peers regarding issues, programs, and financial needs of UNM Athletics in order to promote UNM in a positive manner.

Commit as an Advocate

Members nominate and invite new members with interest and financial capability to support our efforts to build a nationally recognized athletic program.

Commit as an Investor

Members invest personally at a significant level to fund scholarships, programs, and/or facilities for Lobo Athletics.

What are the terms of membership?

A current member of the Lobo Club;
A minimum cash gift of $50,000 required (gifts can be pain in a 5-year pledge period) and/or a minimum documented estate gift of $500,000; and
A 5-year membership from the date of the gift.
Lifetime membership available after total UNM athletics giving has exceeded $1 million cash or $3 million estate giving.

What are the benefits of membership in the lobo champions council?

Through exclusive invitation-only events in Albuquerque, Las Vegas (Nevada), and future locations to be determined, the Lobo Champions Council connects the Lobo Club’s most committed donors with the UNM athletic department’s leadership. Specific benefits include:

Exclusive invitation to the Lobo Champions Council Annual Summit in Albuquerque, which includes:

A high-class dinner and entertainment social in the Sandia Mountains with athletic administrators, coaches, and student-athletes;
An invitation to “The State of the Athletic Department” speech given by the Vice President for Athletics; and
An exclusive chalk talk with a football coach prior to a home football game.

Exclusive invitation to the Vegas Gala during the Mountain West Conference Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.
An opportunity to travel with the football team to an away competition.
Lobo Champions Council jacket that cannot be purchased in stores.
